UNITY 2025 is an interactive town hall conversation and program committed to addressing the pressing challenges facing our society as we transition to a new U.S. Presidential administration. This event serves as a forum to explore the evolving legal landscape and strategize collective action to protect fundamental rights, promote equity, and uphold justice in the face of emerging threats.
This event will be an opportunity to share space with one another and cultivate solidarity, gain insights on the most pressing issues of the day, and develop actionable strategies to confront injustice and protect vulnerable communities. As we come together in these challenging times, we are reminded that when we stand together, we are stronger, and our united voices will be heard more loudly.
Facilitated discussion topics will include the following: (1) LGBTQ+ concerns (same-sex marriage, adoption rights, hate against trans/nonbinary community); (2) Access to abortion and gender-affirming care; (3) Immigration/DACA/mass deportation; (4) Attacks on public education and protecting books; (5) Antisemitism and Islamophobia; (6) Women's rights and autonomy ("your body, my choice" rhetoric); (7) Attacks on the disabled community, (8) Increased hate speech and racism; and (9) Holding the tension of opposites.
